Before & After

Problem

  • Customers need to respond to Buyer queries promptly to progressing sales.
  • When Buyers entered a Digital Sales Room there was no way to connect with anyone.
  • Buyers can email the Seller, but email immediately takes them out of context

The Redesign

Solution

I redesigned sales rooms with real-time collaboration tools and removed the sidebar to resolve some outstanding UX issues in the Buyer view.

Before

Landing page & file viewer

A redundant sidebar adds clutter and creates confusion in the file viewer.

After

Scope

Digital Sales Rooms is a co-viewing experience, most real-time collaboration tools aren’t relevant

The requirements called for a wide set of real-time collaboration tools which are necessary for co-editing experiences. I was able to reduce the scope of the requirements by demonstrating which tools were useful in a co-viewing workflow.

First iteration

Stock Velt components

Second iteration

Adoption into the design system

Outcome

A 35.8% increase in revisits confirmed Buyers were coming back for conversations not just to view files

Beyond engagement, consolidating communication that was previously scattered across email and messaging apps created a data foundation which directly enables future integration with AI agents within the room.

35.8%

Increase in the number of revisits by Buyers

51.1%

Increase in adoption of Digital Sales Rooms by Sellers

Iterations

Private rooms, templates, and role-based collaboration features also delivered
